Jumping into the 21st century, this week’s album was pressed in 2016 by Feedbands, a subscription-based independent record label. Like too many other Feedbands alumni, its creators have been silent since its release, and the label itself appears to have died in 2019 after 72 monthly releases.
For the MusiBook Club’s inaugural week, we’ll be playing Thelonious Monk’s Genius of Modern Music: Vol 1. This album has at least four different track listings; the one we’ll use is derived from the 1956 French special edition (because that one is was easy to find online).
